Hallett illustrates an example of body-weather porosity that echoes anecdotal accounts of arthritic joints feeling eased by warm climatic conditions and agitated by colder, damp weather in which we may literally feel ‘chilled to the bone’. Such accounts support a trans-corporeal perspective on body-site-weather intra-actions ‘where human corporeality…is inseparable from ‘nature’ or ‘environment” (Stacey Alaimo 2010, p. 238). Drawing on Alaimo’s notion of trans-corporeality, Astrida Neimanis and Rachel Walker propose the concept of ‘weather bodies’ in which ‘the ebb and flow of meteorological life transits through us, just as the actions, matters, and meanings of our own bodies return to the climate in myriad ways’ (2013, p. 3).
